Durham Big Ride is an ideal way of getting staff involved together in a social occasion and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.
The Business Challenge event is open to businesses large and small and all male, all female or mixed teams.
There will be a trophy for the team that collects the most in sponsorship money for their given charity.
Teams of four can register as a ‘Business Challenge’ team and the same business can enter as many teams as you like.
What Do We Do?
Quite simple. Get your team together and give them a name and register as a ‘Business Challenge’ team. Next get training and start raising money for your own favourite charity or worthy cause.
Come race day, let us know how much your team has raised for charity and we will make a note of it. If you come out the winner, we will be in touch and present a trophy a week or so after the event.

Entries will be accepted for male, female and mixed teams. (You may enter as many teams in each category that you wish).
The Team Co-ordinator will be responsible for sorting their riders into correct teams.
NB: All entries must be individually entered.
General conditions of entry
1. Conditions and ride instructions
By entering the ride you agree to abide by the Conditions of Entry and any ride instructions given to you by the organisers and officials of the Durham Big Ride.
2. Entry Fees £15 for all Business Challenge entrants.
3. Medical conditions. It is strongly recommended that you train for the event and prepare for the challenge. If you have not exercised before or for some time, consult your doctor for a check up. If you have a medical condition, please complete the details on the back of your race number.
4. Race mementos. Only finishers will receive a commemorative medal, T-shirt and certificate. Race numbers are NOT interchangeable.
5. For reasons of safety No entries are permissible from people on roller skates, in wheelbarrows, pushchairs, carrying various objects for charity etc.
6. Your name will be added to our mailing list so that we can keep you informed about the Durham Big Ride. This information will only be used by Durham Big Ride in relation to the event.
7. Data protection The Durham Big Ride complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and you have the right of access to your personal records held on our computer.
8. Use of image. By entering the race you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other medium at any Durham Big Ride event.
9. Race cancellation. If the event is cancelled or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances we will endeavour to stage the event at a later date. In such circumstances we will try to let you know via email of the cancellation or delay.
Our entire liability in respect of all costs and expenses you may incur as a result of such cancellation or delay will be the entry price you have paid to take part in the event.
10. Race numbers For safety reasons and primarily for the identification by medical staff we strictly prohibit the swapping (or sale) of race numbers in the Durham Big Ride. If you are unable to take part we allow you a guaranteed entry into the next year's event through our deferment policy.
Disclaimer I accept all the conditions of entry and acknowledge that the organisers shall not be liable for death, personal injury, or loss or damage as a consequence of my participation in the Durham Big Ride 2009, except with regard to death or personal injury which is caused by the organisers' negligence.
Entry Policy Business Challenge entrants must be at least 16 years of age on 20th July 2009.
The next information you will receive, after your confirmation email, from Durham Big Ride will be your ride numbers and “on the day” information.
