The Beast’ is a 52 mile cycling event catering for highly experienced cycling enthusiasts which leads riders on a breathtaking ride across the county, taking in the sights of Iveston, Wolsingham and Tow Law along the way, before returning and eventually descending to Durham. The route is challenging as it takes in most of the hills in the north and west of the County, and has been given its name by test-riders themselves.

Please note, all riders participating in ‘The Beast’ must be either over 18, or over 16 and a member of a recognised cycling organisation AND must be highly capable and experienced in view of the length of ride, the hills and descents, and the number of technical sections.

Not for the faint-hearted, this formidable 52-mile round trip has become somewhat of a pilgrimage for biking experts. Conquering The Beast is something to be really proud of!
